Tipton Academy - Gold Program

Tipton Academy is an all boy's boarding school located in Tipton Kansas. Tipton Academy employs Strength Based Approach as their focused program approach. This discipline has a long and successful history. Tipton Academy incorporates the basic components from this discipline. Tipton Academy realizes that punishment for an inappropriate behavior leads to resentment and rebellion of the rules, and does nothing to replace the inappropriate behavior with pro-social behavior.

Y.E.S Criteria

Gold Program

• Accredited Academics
• State Licensed Facility
• Degreed people in key positions
• No serious accidents or injuries
• At least one year in business
• No legitimate complaints on file with the state
• Regular health care checks by medical professional RN or MD
• Onsite counseling available
• Drug counselor on staff or available
• Program is non-punitive
• Meals meet state requirements for nutrition
• Facility is clean and adequate for program size

Silver Program

• Accredited Academics
• State Licensed Facility
• Program director has an appropriate degree
• No accidents or injuries in the last year
• Any complaints with state have a letter of explanation on file
• Program is non-punitive
• Counseling available
• Meals meet state requirements for nutrition
• Facility is clean and adequate for program size

Bronze Program

• Program director has experience working with youth
• Some type of academic work provided
• Program meets state requirements to operate the type of business they are running
• Explanation for any serious injuries within the last year
• Program is non-punitive
